What is a Success Coach?

Going back to school is exciting, but it can also be challenging and a little scary at times. That’s why at Bryan, you’ll have your very own Success Coach to help you every step of the way, from your first class until graduation. Your Coach is here to answer your questions and check in with you to make sure that everything is going smoothly. At Bryan you will always have a Coach in your corner to help you reach your potential and exceed your expectations.

Hello! My name is Carmen Hampleman. I graduated from Bryan University with my Bachelor of Science in Paralegal Studies and Litigation Technologies in September of 2022 and worked with students as an Academic Consultant. With a background in management and training, I’m here to help you reach your goals and assist with any challenges. I’ll answer any questions and give tips that may help you make your journey less stressful. I have been where you are and would love to help you succeed!

I’m Angela Bono. I’ve been in various forms of higher education and coaching for over 20 years. I’m passionate about helping students achieve their goals by identifying strengths, helping them overcome challenges and developing a solid support system. I’m looking forward to working with you!

Hi, my name is Brittainy Thomas. I am a lifelong learner, an entrepreneur, & a risk-taker. For the last 5 years, I’ve worked at Texas A&M University-Commerce, starting in Advising, to The Executive Assistant to The Dean, then selected as the 1st Concierge in the new Student Success Team Model & promoted to an Academic Advisor, all within The College of Business. Working with students is my passion & I look forward to working with you on achieving your goals!

Hello, I’m Melissa Garcia-Petway. I joined the BU family in 2015 as an Admissions Representative. Three years later, I moved to the Student Affairs Team. I love helping students with accomplishing their goals of successfully graduating! I also enjoy achieving my personal goal of improving the lives of others.

Hello!  My name is Salma Syed and I am a member of the Academic Affairs team at Bryan University. I have been with Bryan University for the last 5 years. I truly believe in Bryan University’s mission in challenging the boundaries of traditional education. My favorite part of this job is watching students transform their lives through education and accomplish their dreams.

Hi. I’m Cheryl Jones and I joined Bryan University because of its mission to challenge the boundaries of traditional education and liberate the innate greatness in people. I am a firm believer that everyone is equipped with a “special set of skills” to accomplish their purpose and succeed in life. I choose to motivate students to define their idea of academic success and set goals to achieve it.

Hey there! My name is Britney Lacy,  I started my journey here at BU as an Adjunct in the MA program, moved into Admissions, and now I am now part of our Success Coaches. I have my associate’s and Bachelor’s degrees in the Medical field, as well as previous work history in Mental Health and Addiction Services. I pride myself in being a “helper,” and I look forward to seeing you succeed on your journey here at Bryan University. Let me know if there is anything I can help with!

Hi! My name is Jessica Gengler and I have been with Bryan University since January 2024. I am a graduate of Texas A&M University and live in Arlington, TX. I previously worked in higher education for four years and K-12 education for the last five years.
