Welcome to the Experiential Learning Corner (ELC)!

The ELC is your one-stop shop for information on learning through hands-on experiences and reflection.  It connects classroom learning to real-world situations.  Health Information Management students are required to engage in Supervised Experiential Learning within their program.  However, we encourage the Medical Billing & Coding students to also take part in available activities.

The Experiential Learning Corner (ELC) will cover the following topics:

Experiential Learning 101

  • What is Experiential Learning?
  • Who does them and when?
  • How do you prepare?
  • How to add it to your resume?
  • Different career pathways: AHIMA Career Map
Experiential Learning is the process of engaging students in hands-on experiences and reflection to better connect classroom learning to real-world experiences.
